TBG Online Education - Frequently Asked Questions
-
Who is the intended audience for these courses? This curriculum is designed specifically for private club professionals - CFO, Controllers, General Managers, Assistant and Clubhouse Managers, and other key personnel who are involved in technology decision-making. Since 90% of private clubs do not have an IT expert on staff, these are the individuals at your club who must decide which software and equipment should be purchased and implemented. The courses present technical concepts and information in a format that can be easily understood – and applied – by a non-technical audience.
-
What will these courses teach me? By taking the entire curriculum, you will learn the basic concepts and information needed to make the tough technology decisions facing your club now – and in the near future. This is the same course material that Bill Boothe teaches at club industry conferences - in convenient one-hour video courses that let you learn at your own pace, and on your own schedule.
-
What are the courses like? They are presented as if you were listening to a live conference education session. You will see a dynamic slide presentation with an accompanying voice track. Each course is approximately 55 minutes in duration and includes ancillary items such as a course outline, analytical tools, checklists and guides.
-
Are the courses accredited? Yes, each course is accredited for 1.0 hour of continuing education by HFTP and CMAA. Each course includes a 10-question test and a certificate of completion that can be submitted for education credit.
-
How hard are the tests? The tests are designed to make sure that students actually complete the course. If you take the entire course, you’ll pass the test. Plus you can retake the test if needed.
-
How do I access the courses? You’ll use our online education portal hosted by DigitalChalk, an online Learning Management System used by hundreds of organizations including The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University.
-
How long after I purchase the courses do I have to complete them? For each course you purchase, you have 6 months following the purchase date to complete that course.
-
Can I share my purchased courses with others? Yes - but only as part of a sanctioned HFTP or CMAA event (such as a Chapter Meeting or Conference). Otherwise No, the courses are designed to be taken by one individual student, and only one certificate of completion is issued for each purchased course. We have priced the courses reasonably to allow everyone to take advantage of the entire curriculum for a very low cost.

How does it all work? Easy. You just go to the Education Portal and set up an account (takes about 60 seconds). You then purchase the courses you want with a credit card and receive an electronic receipt. You can read the course descriptions again before you buy. The Portal is easy to use, holds your purchased courses until you are ready to take them, and keeps a record of your completed courses. You can take the courses in any order you wish. You can stop at any point during a course and then pick up where you left off. You can also go back and review earlier chapters, or take an entire course over again. There is no limit to the number of times you can take a course. (There is however a 6-month time limit that starts on the day you make your purchase.) When you’re ready, you take the test, print/save your certificate of completion (it’s a PDF file) and you’re ready for the next course. It’s that easy!
